By attending this four – day workshop with a lot of assessments for the participant which will increase their individual underpinning knowledge both theoretical and practical demonstration on equipment, the course is design for individuals involved in the selection, installation and inspection of equipment used in hazardous areas. All Electrical and instrumentation personnel who conduct electrical installation or inspection of hazardous areas should apply for this course.
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
Participants are required to complete the electrical installation exercises involving wiring, glancing, and installation and inspection skills to the required standards. The purpose of the course is to raise the competency levels of personnel carrying out installation, inspection and maintenance of electrical apparatus in explosive gas atmosphere to the IEC 60079 series of standards beside the basic knowledge.

- Certification and marking of Ex equipment
- Flameproof Ex “d” protection concepts and standards
- Demonstration of compound filled and diaphragm seal gland assembly
- Practical Exercise : Assembly of compound and diaphragm seal type glands
- Group discussions on past North Sea explosive incidents: Brent Alpha -Cormorant Alpha – Piper Alpha
- Increased Safety Exe protection concepts and standards
- Ex “n” protection concepts and standards
- Ex “d”, Ex “e”, Ex “n”
- Practical assessments No. 1 & 2
- Ex “i” protection concepts and standards
- Ex “p” protection concepts and standards
- Hybrid methods of protection
