Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Calculations and Design:
Perform engineering calculations using empirical formulae from Classification Regulations as well as first principles.
Prepare and revise mechanical/piping diagram packages for Classification Society approval.
Conduct HVAC calculations in line with industry standards and recognized marine standard criteria.
Equipment and System Development:
Apply basic knowledge of marine engineering and systems to ensure equipment functionality.
Assist with equipment and piping weight estimates.
Assist in preparing ship machinery arrangements at the concept, basic, and functional design levels.
Develop 3D compartment arrangements for space planning and visualization.
Collaboration:
Work effectively within team environments, both within the office and across global teams.
Share ideas, concerns, and solutions openly with team members.
Complete assignments on time, adapting to changes in goals or priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
Problem-Solving:
Analyze and reflect on observations and experiences to assist in solving problems.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree within Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
Experience: 0-3 years of experience in a shipbuilding company or relevant industry.
Technical Expertise:
Communication: Effectively conveys key information in a clear and timely manner.
Language: Possess basic reading and writing skills in English, with a proactive attitude and strong motivation to improve communication skills through practice and company-provided training.
Adaptability: Adjusts behavior and approaches based on the situation.
Willing to be mentored and coached by senior engineer.
Other requirements:
Legally authorized to work in the job location.
Willing to travel to North America for short-term assignments.
