Mermaid Maritime Vietnam Company Limited is a 100% foreign-owned company established in 2004, providing services and solutions to the marine, offshore, and oil & gas industries. We are currently looking for a Technical Bid/Proposal Engineer to join our Bidding team.
WORKING LOCATION
Dong Xuyen Industrial Park, Rach Dua Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Marine, Safety, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in technical bidding, proposal, tender, or technical sales.
Experience in marine, offshore, oil & gas, or shipbuilding is preferred.
Good understanding of SOLAS / MED / Class requirements; familiarity with DNV, ABS, LR, BV, or NK is an advantage.
Experience with GA drawings, technical specifications, VDRL, and customer technical documentation is an advantage.
Experience in LSA/FFE is a plus; training will be provided.
Skills
Good spoken and written English.
Strong ability to understand tender documents, technical specifications, and commercial requirements.
Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Analytical, detail-oriented, proactive, with strong coordination and document-control skills; able to work under tight deadlines.

WORKING LOCATION

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review ITB/RFQ, technical specifications, scope of supply, and applicable SOLAS / MED / Class requirements; prepare Compliance Matrices and identify technical risks or deviations.
- Prepare Technical Proposals, recommend suitable equipment/models and authorized makers, and verify specifications and Part Numbers.
- Prepare and respond to Technical Bid Clarifications (TBC) and coordinate technical clarifications with customers, makers/OEMs, and internal departments.
- Evaluate suppliers’ technical proposals and technical compliance with customer requirements.
- Prepare, manage, and control customer technical documents, including Datasheets, GA Drawings, ITP, Certificates, Test/Inspection Documents, MDR, O&M Manuals, Spare Parts Lists, and VDRL.
- Manage VDRL submissions, track customer comments, and coordinate document close-out until acceptance.
- Provide technical support to Sales, including RFQ review, technical information checks, equipment selection, and customer technical meetings.
- Coordinate with customers, makers/OEMs, Workshop, Procurement, and Sales to obtain and verify technical information, certificates, and compliance documents.
- Support FAT, inspections, and Class/customer activities, where applicable.
- Maintain technical databases and keep up to date with relevant SOLAS / MED / IMO / Class requirements
